The new fast-track C50 bus route, which connects Vashi to World Trade Center, will benefit office goers in the satellite city
After the inauguration of the much-awaited Eastern Freeway, connecting Chembur and South Mumbai, the Bombay Electrical Supply Transport (BEST) will ply four buses on the C50 route between Vashi and World Trade Center. The bus services have been introduced to make commuting easy for the office going crowd of the satellite city.

Virendra Bagul, BEST’s spokesman, said, “The plan to start the services was pre-planned and will benefit commuters in the satellite city.”
The bus service will use the Eastern Freeway, a 13.59 km route with the minimum fare set at Rs 7. All the four bus services, two trips in the morning and two in the evening, would be non-AC.
“Earlier the commute between Navi Mumbai and south Mumbai was very hectic and time consuming but now because of the C50 buses, it will be an easy and a comfortable commute,” said Salma Inamdar who resides in Nerul.

The bus is a great add on especially because it starts from World Trade Center and takes the Eastern Freeway route to Vashi. Hopefully, the commute will be affordable and hassle free.

Though it is a great initiative, the limited number of buses might be a problem. Right now they are only targeting the office-goers, what about regular folks like us?u00a0
