"Through a reliable source, I have found that there have been several instances of bungling in DDA's draw of lots. For example, one of the applicants Sunil Kumar Jain (application number 821900 was declared successful in the draw of lots but surprisingly,u00a0his four sons Sameer Jain, Bhanu Jain, Gaurav Jain and Vivek Jain (Application.
Nos. 337382, 715419, 1007146, 1294180 respectively) too were declared successful in the draw," said city BJP chief Vijender Gupta in a statement. Citing another case, he said, applicants Poonam Gautam, Rahul Gautam and Preeti Gautam, who are children of a person named Surendra Kumar, were allotted flats in the draw of lots.
"The numbers of their applications are 1070441, 1070442, 1070443 respectively. Can three applicants from the same family be allotted houses in serial numbers?" he said while demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter. He also questioned the policy of keeping the price of Janata flats at Rs 6 lakh per unit. "The government should think whether it is possible for the poor people to pay such high price for these flats.
It will be the black marketeers who will purchase papers from these people who had been declared successful in the draw of lots," he said. "Can a person of middle income group purchase a flat costing Rs 30 lakh? DDA has fixed the price of high income group houses at Rs 85 lakh. "How much salary does a high class government employee earn? The price of a Vasant Kunj flat is around Rs 1.12 crore. Can a common man purchase such costly flats?" he said.
