Beerwah (J-K): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the BJP was talking in different voices in different parts of the state on the issue of abrogation of article 370 of the Constitution.

"BJP itself is talking in different voices. In Jammu, they talk about abrogating Article 370 and in the Valley they say that if people want, it will remain (in the constitution)," Omar told reporters after filing his nomination papers from Beerwah assembly segment in central Kashmir Budgam district.

Omar expressed hope that whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes to Kashmir, things will be clearer on the issue. "I am sure once the Prime Minister comes here, things will be clearer," he said. Asked about the possibility of his National Conference allying with BJP post polls, Omar said he was contesting the assembly elections to win a mandate on his own.

In response to another question, he said while there was some Modi influence in Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state, he was yet to see anything in Kashmir. Omar also rubbished the PDP claim that he had joined the 'swach bharat abhiyan' at the instance of the Prime Minister to please him.

"I wish they were correct. It is all propaganda they have thrived on. I was nominated by Salman Khan (bollywood actor) on twitter. Salman Khan has more followers on Twitter. So I picked up the broom at his instance," he said.

Omar said if sweeping the roads would guarantee electoral success, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti should have also wielded the broom as he had nominated her on twitter as part of the cleanliness campaign.
