A city-based firm to build houses free of cost for Jaffna civil war victims
A Bangalore-based firm will play Good Samaritan to the countless civil war victims in Sri Lanka. It will construct 'instant' flats in Jaffna, which will be handed over to the victims over a period of six months.
All this, at no cost at all to the victims. These one lakh houses will be built on the same lines as constructions for the slum board in Bangalore.
These houses will be flood and earthquake proof, unlike the ones built in Bangalore.

A meeting with the Sri Lankan government on June 18 will finalise everything, including the date to kick off the project, said team members.
"This will come as ray of hope to those affected by the civilian wars," said Bheem Rajesh, MD, Trigunas Buildtech, which is responsible for the project.
Whereas, Shivashankar, technical advisor to the project, said, "We will be using the latest technology in the construction.
One technology among three light weight concrete, shear wall design and monolithic design, will be finalised."
