Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh on Saturday slammed Gujarat Chief Minister for saying he was a “Hindu nationalist.”

Displaying his anger on a social networking site Singh tweeted, “Shouldn’t we all be nationalist Indians rather than Hindu nationalists or Muslim nationalists or Sikh nationalists or Christian nationalists,” He further attacked the BJP’s Election Campaign Committee chief for showcasing himself as a Hindu nationalist, Singh tweeted, “Don't divide this great nation on basis of religion which (Veer) Savarkar and Jinnah did.
They were the original authors of the two-nation theory.” In an interview to a newswire agency, Modi had said, “I am nationalist. I’m patriotic. I am a born Hindu. Nothing is wrong. So yes, you can say I’m a Hindu nationalist because I’m a born Hindu.”
