Bizman accuses college director of harassment

The executive director of a city-based business college beat up a telecom engineer and abused his colleagues when the latter went to seek remuneration for setting up a multimedia classroom.

The complainant Mohit Hegde, owner of Creative Infotech had taken the project of setting up a digital classroom for Oxford College of Science and Management. After setting up the classroom, the Executive Director, Narasimha Raju started harassing him.

Hegde said, "We had completed the installation of all the equipment which is integrated. During the installation, Raju wanted to put his projector up.

"The product was made-to-order, and we had brought it from Singapore. But he had been refusing since October last year. When Gautham G, the direct dealer of the equipment, approached Raju, he was abused for about four hours in presence of the students and staff."

As soon as he heard about it, Hegde, along with his associate Meera Manjunath who was also the part of supplying the equipment, rushed to the college. "Raju and his assistant Srinivas abused us and had us beaten up."

But the trouble was just beginning. Meera, who had associated with the college for two years, would get students for the admission. Because of this, Raju had offered a free seat to Meera's daughter who is a student there.

However, half an hour after the spat, Meera received a call from the college asking her to pay the fees by 10 am the next morning. Failure would result in her daughter not allowed to sit for the exam.

But before a police complaint, Raju allegedly wrote a letter to their suppliers in Singapore, accusing Mohit and Gautham of assaulting him.

"We had not registered a complaint immediately because the college advisor had assured us that he would settle the matter. But when Raju started damaging our reputation, we decided to register a case."
An assault case has been registered with the HSR Layout police. Raju did not respond to our calls or messages even after repeated attempts.
