Mumbai police arrests Kalyani Deshpande, who was producing a film based on her life, for kidnapping

The dream of Pune-based brothel owner Kalyani Deshpande to make a film based on her life crashed after the Malwani cops arrested her on Sunday for her allegedu00a0 involvement in the kidnap of Deepankar Mondal, a pimp in Malvani and rape of Vinita Koirala, an escort (Read Case so far).
Despande, who runs an escort agency Venus Escorts from her bungalow KD Dhaba in Sus, Pune, also operates under the names of Jaishree and Kalpana.
Senior inspector B Hargude from Malvani police station said, "Deshpande has been booked under section 367 (kidnapping) and 320 (grievous injury)."

Despande was using the money she earned from the brothel to produce the movie. She had reportedly announced that the film was being shot in Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, but did not reveal its title. She claimed that the police was trying to exploit her and she wanted to tell the world about how she was forced into flesh trade.
DCP Anil Kumbhare of Pune Crime Branch said, "Deshpande was active in Pune since 2000 and 15 cases have been registered against her at various police station, including Deccan, Chatushrungi and Wanoworie, under the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act."
Deshpande operated her agency from the outskirts of Pune, as she had been externed from the city in 2008.
