RJ Rakesh and RJ Prithvi share their sensible discussion on budget this time

Banthu Banthu... Budget Banthu...! As India (so called world's next super power) presented its Union Budget, nama ooru Bengalooru (so called India's IT capital) barely managed to capture a glimpse of it.u00a0 Courtesy: The intermittent power supply in the city. The ruthless fashion in which electricity was playing hide and seek with us, Prithvi and I felt absolutely heroic when we managed to hear atleast one budget statement and also remembered it. We felt all the more clever, when we started discussing it.

Can you imagine...? Prithvi...? The guy who keeps running to the playground holding his knickers up, just to play marbles with his chaddi dosts discussing the 'budget' with me. Hau hau... Couldn't believe my ears and eyes. Probably, he was trying his best to belong to the intelligent human race.u00a0

u00a0But, do you know what that budget statement was? Here it is, we still remember it: "Government to create 12 million jobs every year." And the first thought that struck Prithvi and me was... "Where are these jobs going to come from?" It struck Prithvi like a lightening thought. It was his first time at 'thinking'. Hurts badly.

Nevertheless, only for the sake of his enthusiasm and curiosity, I decided to take this on air and ask nama ooru Bengalooru to answer Prithvi's first sensible question in life. 1 crore, 20 lakh jobs to be created every year.

Where on earth will they come from? With intense digging, one listener managed to bring some relief to Prithvi.

She came on air and gave an account of how and from where these 12 million jobs would be created every year. She said: "Government will hire people to do the job of waking up our ministers who doze offu00a0 at Parliament during the Parliament sessions. Government will appoint people to write lengthy, empty speeches for its representatives and also to sit and count the number of days they take to resolve issues, which usually run into thousands." Prithvi actually bought that and is also contended with the answer.u00a0

u00a0But did you notice this? There was one very special thing about the Budget this time? It was presented at 11am! You know, why? They were all waiting for us to finish with our show Bengalooru Fatafat. (Every morning 7 to 11 on 94.3 Radioone) And by the way, this picture has nothing to do with the Budget and what we've written. We just like this man.
