Dr Satya Pal Singh wants city ATS to report to the Pune police commissionerate, and not to the Mumbai CP as it does now
According to commissioner of Police Dr Satya Pal Singh, the charge of Pune Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), which is currently under the Mumbai police, should be handed over to the city police. Dr Singh believes that if it's done, will result in smoother coordination between the ATS and Pune police in situations like a terror attack.
Speaking to MiD DAY, he said, "If the ATS units in Nagpur, Pune and other prominent cities come under their respective commissioners' command, it will yield better results."
Dr Singh also added that after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pradhan Committee had come to Pune. "I shared my view with them on the Pune ATS with them as well," he said.
