BMC officials will visit the Campa Cola compound again today and this time, the police are going to be very strict with the protestors. According to a senior police officer, the police were not very happy with the behaviour of the residents yesterday, after they locked the gates and prevented the BMC from carrying out the orders of the court. About 250 officers of Mumbai police were present at the site yesterday to ensure that there was no law and order problem.

Residents formed a human chain, protested against what they felt was injustice and refused to move out of their homes, even though the apex court in the country had ordered them to do so.

The police tried to convince people and spoke to them for around two hours, asking them to cooperate with the proceedings. After the discussion, they dragged off the people who were protesting outside the gate and called in BMC workers to break the lock on the entrance.

The senior police officer said, “Today, we were lenient and were trying to do work in peace and without any disruption. But if tomorrow they behave in the same way, then orders from higher authorities allow us to take action against errant residents.”u00a0Residents were of the opinion that the police force should have taken the age of the residents into consideration, as they were teens and youngsters.
