Samuel Rajshekhar allegedly assured man that his grandson would get an LKG seat if he paid Rs 1 lakh as donation

Samuel Rajshekhar, who allegedly claimed to be a member of the board that manages the prestigious Bishop Cotton Boys School, has been accused of taking a Rs 1 lakh bribe.

Rajgopal, who wanted to get his grandson Dheeraj Kumar enrolled in Lower KG, lodged a complaint against Samuel with the Cubbon Park Police on April 24.

Samuel, a neighbour of Rajgopal's sister, who lives on Mission Road, had allegedly promised to arrange a seat for Dheeraj Kumar if he was paid a 'donation' of Rs 1 lakh. Rajgopal reportedly paid him the amount along with the filled application form on February 5.

Using his clout, Rajgopal not only managed to get the letters but also got a personal letter from Law Minister Suresh Kumar. Two months passed and Samuel was unable to arrange the promised seat.

A suspicious Rajgopal decided to take the matter up with the school administration. The school was closed and the watchmen informed him that school would reopen only after May 17.

He was also told that there would be no more admissions, and the board was not meeting to discuss admissions as he had been led to believe by Samuel.

Rajgopal tried calling Samuel on his mobile phone but found it switched off. When he reached Samuel's house, he found him missing.

Rajgopal filed a complaint with the school principal followed by another complaint with the Cubbon Park police.

"I have requested the police to deal strictly with Samuel so he does not cheat others like he cheated me," said Rajgopal.

Neither the principal of the Bishop Cotton Boys School nor Samuel Rajshekhar could not be reached on the phone despite repeated attempts.
