Moxaa, the American themed cafe is high on the feel-good food factor. Drop by for an instant pick-me-up on a gloomy rainy day

The bright yellow neon sign announcing Moxaa's presence stood out as we made our way towards Inorbit Mall, on Link Road.

It was raining in this part of the city so all we could see of the open-air section were potted plants and rows of overturned tables stacked up.

Despite the drizzle, the tables in the indoor section were occupied, which was a heartening sign of acceptance.

The caf ufffd had an instant Central Perk-like connect when we stepped in. A bunch of friends were, comfortably perched on a couch, chatting over their coffees, all-too-reminiscent of a scene from the TV sitcom Friends.

Fresh is the keyword at this American-themed restaurant and caf ufffd where its all-day breakfast option is the highlight.

We started off with the soup of the day Tomato Soup with Chicken (Rs 50) inspired by the few raindrops that clung on the windowpanes.

The soup was thicker than expected but filling nonetheless. It could make for a quick meal-on-the-go if you're in a hurry.

Next, we tried the Mexican Chilly Fries (Rs 95), which was a combination of regular French Fries topped with the all meat Texas chilli recipe and Cheddar cheese, and New York Sicilian Veg Pizza (Rs 225), which might not appeal to the hardcore desi-style pizza-lover but it worked as a refreshing change.

We weren't sure if it was the change in weather or the whiff of freshly baked goodies that wafted from the small kitchen that fuelled our gluttonous mood.

We went ahead and opted for the Caramelised Banana and Walnut Pancakes (Rs 140) for dessert.

It was unbelievably sinful as we dug into the freshly tossed pancakes topped with bananas, walnut, caramel sauce, honey and a dollop of butter, as the clock neared midnight.

At: Shop No 8, Ozone (Rustomjee Project), 90 Feet Link Road, between SV Road and Link Road, Goregaon (W).
