Salaam Bombay star Shafiq Syed can no longer complain that life's dull it's actually the stuff of movies, says scriptwriter Vivek Shukla who plans to make a film on him.

u00a0Meera Nair has invited Shafiq for the re-release of Salaam Bombay in Mumbai.
"She called me on Tuesday night. I was surprised to receive her call and asked her how she could forget her son for so many years. Didi simply said that she did not have my contact number. I think she will re-release Salaam Bombay in May, and she asked me to be there," Shafiq said.

Shafiq has heard from Nair after 12 long years. "Twelve years ago, I had gone tou00a0 Khajuraho to meet Didi where she was shooting Kamasutra. I asked her for a technician's job, but no job was available," he said.

Meanwhile, there was more good news for Shafiq. An NRI, Haravinder Rajpal, has promised to send Rs 2,000 to Shafiq every month for his children's education.
