Past the deadline
Hotel owner Rajesh Lalwani was booked for keeping the establishment open beyond the time limit and 11 people for consuming alcohol without a licence. The police said the staff of the hotel were also among those booked.

“We received a tip-off that the hotel owner allows the hotel to remain open beyond the time limit and raided the place around 1 am,” Umap said. “We booked the owner of the hotel under the Bombay Police Act and as many as 19 people, including the hotel staff, were also booked.”

Medical tests
He said that after medical tests were done on all the detainees, 11 people tested positive for alcohol consumption and they were arrested under Section 84 and 85 of the Bombay Prohibition Act.
