Shradhha Chajed murder case: Theu00a0 murder of techie Shradhha Chajed (24) by her colleague Anmol Jabbal sent a shock wave across the city on July 29. Jabbal hatched the plot and murdered Shradhha because he felt that 'she hated' him. The case is on and Jabbal is behind bars.

Nayana Pujari gang rape and murder: Nayana Pujari, a software employee of Synechron was abducted on October 7, and gang raped and murdered by two cabbies, company security guards and their accomplice. The case forced software companies to reschedule their timings for women employees, and several companies cancelled night shiftsu00a0 for women. Uniforms and background checks will be made mandatory for all cab drivers from January 1.

Ten-year-old raped and murdered: The rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl and the alleged involvement
of the octogenarian landlord and the victim's mother rocked the city.

Three minors held for raping four-year-old: The police detained three minors involved in raping and beating up a four-and-a-half-year-old girl at Ramtekdi in Hadapsar. The minors allegedly committed the crime to make it big in the underworld.

Builder shot in broad daylight: The murder of builder Nikhil Rane on the busy Jangali Maharaj road took the builder community by storm. Rane was incidentally involved in a land deal where the accused had asked for a huge amount of money as ransom. The accused are behind bars, but none have confessed.

Neta shot: A day before the Assembly polls, Shiv Sena-BJP candidate from Wadgaon-Sheri, Ajay Bhosale was shot at by unidentified gunmen. Bhosale escaped, but Shakil Yusuf Sayyad (34), who was driving the car, was injured.
