It IS a first for India. And a real big event if you are one who enjoys shaking your booty to great music. The English dance electronic dance music group The Prodigy is all set to rock the Capital with its
performance this weekend.
The group needs no introduction, they are famous for creating some of the biggest soundtracks. They are one of the biggest performing artistes in the world today and have performed at some of the world's biggest music festivals.

The Prodigy is performing at the Invasion Festival, which is a
celebration of music -- bringing together the best of international, contemporary, high energy acts brimming with attitude.
On the stage will be a never seen before live music experience by bringing together some of the most cutting-edge, high energy acts. This is also the first Invasion festival in India.

Apart from being headlined by The Prodigy, the festival will also
feature performances by some of the most exciting Indian live acts like Jalebee Cartel, the energetic band with massive beats, Mumbai
electro-rock pioneers Pentagram and Midival Punditz, India's own electronic act. There will also beu00a0 the Australian band Pendulum One, who will be performing live.

"It will be a tremendous act, we are so excited, and we'll be sharing the stage with the legends of modern music. I've been listening to their music since ages. The Prodigy are pioneers who crossed over from electronic to house. Their high energy music has changed the sound of modern music. The album Music for the Jilted Generation had a big impact on the music scene all over the world," says Arjun of Jalebee Cartel.
"Since my DJing days in 1995 I have been playing their music and they are such a huge inspiration, we are really looking forward to perform with them" he adds.
"It will be crazy, I'm so excited, I have grown up listening to their music. It's like playing with the idols and sharing the stage with them will be a once in a lifetime experience for all of us. They are such a huge inspiration," says Randolph of Pentagram.
"Music for the Jilted Generation is one of my favourite albums by the group. We are nervous also as we'll be playing some of our new songs from our new album," he says.
About The band
For those clueless about who we are talking about, here's a little dope. The Prodigy is an electronic dance music group started by Liam Howlett in 1990 in Essex. The band has currently three members -- Liam Howlett, the composer who also plays the keyboard, Keith Flint, dancer and vocalist and Maxim, the MC and the vocalist.
The band is worshipped as the pioneers of the big beat genre which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s and 2000s. They have sold over 25 million records worldwide.
They make use of various styles of raving from rave, hardcore techno, industrial and break beat to electronic rock with punk vocal elements. Firestarter and Smack my bitch up are some of the most popular songs by the band.
