Dancers face police fury

Seven to eight members affiliated to the Ganesh Hegde Dance Group had to face the fury of the police, late last night at around 12 am.

According to them, cops dressed in civil attire halted to have a cup of tea near the RTO office when police started ransacking the stall.

"We were standing near the tea stall and having tea when the police came and started throwing material from the stall. To avoid any further problems, we fled from the place but they took away my bike," said one of the victims on the condition of anonymity.

The tea-stall owner also said that the police ransacked his stall for no reason.

The victim later told MiD-Day that the police asked them to come on Friday with the documents of the bike in order to get it back.

When the boys asked the reason behind this act, the police said, "Standing on the road late at night is not allowed."
