Alternative rockers Them Clones will give new meaning to hero worship, at the release of their debut album

Eight solid years of rocking the Indian live act scene, and Delhi-based rockers Them Clones still don't believe in taking themselves seriously. Ask bass guitarist Clarence Gonsalves what it was like to work with ace producer Zorran Mendonsa for their album Love.Hate.Heroes, and he says: "Z is able to relish and eat ice cream all day long, in good times and bad, in sickness and health, with complete focus. He treats his music the same way."

Clarence will be at Hard Rock Cafe tonight with his band members to play "a bit of rock, blues, ballads all supported with a strong melody hook" from the album Love.Hate.Heroes, the band's first full length studio release since the Clones came together in 2000.

The Channel [V] Launchpad victors have used the Internet creatively to reach out to more people. When the band released the first single My Life as a free download earlier this year, they asked fans to vote for tracks that would make it to the final album. From 17 tracks, 11 were chosen based on votes. The CD package comes with a blank disc that listeners can use to make a "clone" for friends. It also comes with a "cloning code".u00a0On entering the code into the band's official website www.themclones.com, and referring three e-mail IDs of friends who may like the music, the download link to a fresh track will be sent to the album owner and his three friends. The three friends, on accessing their respective download links, will enable the album owner to get two more free tracks.

The album is a mixed bag moody ballads Colour and Zephyretta sit next to anthems like My Life and One Way Through. Drummer Surojit Dev says, "The Love.Hate comes from the tracks we have written over the years. For instance, Zephyretta and The Bomb Song are on different tangents of love and hate, while the messages they convey are the real Heroes."
