The police resorted to use of water cannons followed by mild baton charge and tear gas shelling, as soon as five women from protesting party were called inside Rahtrapati Bhawan for talks.

The protestors gathered in large number at the India Gate and marched toward Rashtrapati Bhawan, shouting slogan ''we want justice'' and demanding capital punishment to the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
