What is it that you want to do the most after a bout of heavy duty shopping? Probably rest your feet up and sip on a cool refreshing drink. Because, right after you finish shopping for knick knacks downstairs you can head to the terrace caf ufffd upstairs.u00a0
The steep staircase that leads to this caf ufffd has fun trivia written about ants. For example, an ant can carry 50 times its weight, etc. You will find yourself smiling as you read this cute trivia while going up. The caf ufffd is done up with lots of bamboo keeping in mind the North Eastern theme with quirky chairs shaped out of it, low tables and blinds, low tables and the beautiful black Longpi pottery (a style of black pottery from Manipur) crockery. The Ants Caf ufffd looks out to a lot of green and has a pleasant view.
We would suggest trying out the all-day breakfast even if it's way past brekkie time. Sausages with fried onions and bread (Rs 75) is what we started with on our brunch. The sausages were nice, juicy and plump and the crisp slightly caramelised onions were a nice accompaniment to the good old white bread. The Hazelnut Frappe (Rs 73) and the Passion fruit Iced Tea (Rs 50) were very refreshing and great to wash down the breakfast with. Apart from breakfast, the caf ufffd is famed for its range of salads, besides soups, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, starters and desserts.
For our mains, we decided on the Spicy Italian Chicken (Rs 210), a spicy grilled chicken served in a tangy sauce. The Chicken Penne Primavera (Rs 200) was penne served in a creamy basil sauce along with zucchini, mushrooms, babycorn and carrots. Both mains came with a portion of garlic bread. The Italian chicken was too tangy for our palate, but wasn't spicy enough. The pasta was way too saucy, even though it tasted creamy and pungent with a hint of basil.
But it was the Chocolate Pancake served with ice cream and chocolate sauce (Rs 100) that brought our afternoon right back on track. The pancake was light, crisp and chocolaty and was a delight to eat, when we spread the melting ice cream and sauce onto it before gobbling it up. The Chocolate Truffle Cake (Rs 60) was moist, gooey and chilled, just the way we like it.

More than the mains, we would recommend the breakfast, the quick bites and of course not to forget the heavenly desserts.
