The latest takeaway joint at Aundh claims to be your buddy in need and whips up delicious meals in a jiffy, without pinching your pocket

Picture this: You come home starving at 10 pm, with no energy to cook and nothing to eat. Take heart as the new eatery-cum-takeaway joint that recently set shop at Aundh offers one of the quickest home delivery services (within 20 minutes), within a radius of 3 km. They also have branches at Paud Road, Katraj and Kothrud. Don't expect much of a variety, though, since they only serve Indian and Chinese dishes.

By the time we ordered, it was 9.20 pm and we had to settle for Indian dishes. We ordered a Vegetarian Biryani (Rs 66), Non-Vegetarian Thali (Rs 78) and Vegetarian Thali (Rs 55), that were delivered within a flat 20 minutes, in ready-to-serve plastic plates.

Though, the quantity of Veg Biryani was insufficient for one person, it was quite tasty and loaded with beans, cauliflower and onions. It was complimented by the fresh Veg Raita, which had pieces of onion, cucumber and tomatoes.

The Non-Veg Thali included three rotis, Pulao, Dal, Raita and two types of Chicken Curry (one with a thick gravy base and the other with a lighter one). The thicker Chicken Curry was tastier and only moderately spicy.

We simply loved the mixture of pulao, chicken gravy and raita. The other curry was a tad watery and had less spices. It had all of two chicken pieces and was just passable. The dal was thick and had a perfect blend of spices. The Pulao was tasty even though it was not tossed with any vegetable.

The Veg Thali offered a mix of Veg Curry, Chole, Dal, Pulao, Raita and Roti. Made of a mix of capsicum, paneer, cauliflower, carrot and beans, the Veg Curry was delicious and we loved every bit of it. The Chole Curry was strictly average and a tad undercooked.

Service: Buddy Chef scores in the service department. The attendant who took our orders was patient and well-mannered and so was the person who delivered the food. They also pay special attention to the hygiene and packaging of the food.
