A senior police official said Mohammed runs a salon in Gupta Colony, Khirki Extension. His friend Shahdab, who was also thrashed by the accused, helps him run the salon.
Matter of fact
"Two of the accused have been identified as Bhola and Dogra. We have taken the victims' statement and are looking into the matter. Bhola along with a friend were harassing a girl on Friday night. When Mohammed and Shahdab protested, a scuffle ensued. Though the matter was sorted out then, on Sunday afternoon the accused came back with a bigger gang, vandalised the salon and beat up Mohammed and Shahdab," said a police official.
An FIR will be registered after getting the medical leave certificates of the victims. Meanwhile, Mohammed's brother Asif said Dogra -- one of the accused -- has claimed to be the son of a Delhi Police official and has threatened that the police will not take any action against them.
"On Friday night Mohammed was returning home along with his friend Shahdab after closing the salon when two youths who were in an inebriated condition came there and harassed a girl. When Mohammed objected, the accused scolded him and Shahdab for intervening and threatened the duo. Mohammed's friend Tarun intervened and the matter was settled for then," said Asif.
Asif added that on Saturday Bhola, one of the accused, came to Mohammed's salon and again scolded Shahdab. Mohammed was not present at the salon at that time. Bhola made Shahdab call Mohammed. "He then threatened my brother saying that he will kill him. Today afternoon Bhola, Dogra and their accomplices struck at the salon. Before Mohammed could understand anything they started beating them up. The customers present at the saloon were also beaten up when they tried to intervene," said Asif. Mohammed and Shahdab were taken to AIIMS Trauma Care Centre for check-up. "Shahdab had to get stitches while Mohammed's neck has been injured," said the police official.
