"Central intelligence agencies had informed us that a module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba was active in Jammu and Kashmir ufffd The explosives had been brought by LeT and were meant to be used by terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International in Delhi," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Arun Kampani told reporters in New Delhi.

According to Kampani, the Delhi Police team received specific information Wednesday and recovered the explosives from the Tata Indica car bearing registration number -- HR03 R 0054.
"Five kg of explosives, divided into three parts and wrapped in brown adhesive tapes, five detonators and two timers in a plastic box were hidden in the car," said Kampani.
Two toll tax receipts and some newspapers from Kashmir were also recovered.
Acting on a tip-off, Haryana Police, along with a special team of Delhi Police, had found the abandoned Indica car at the Ambala Cantonement railway station Wednesday evening. Police waited for the owner of the car and then opened it to find the explosives.
The home ministry confirmed the incident but refused to divulge more details. "Yes explosives have been found," Home Secretary R.K. Singh told reporters in Delhi.
In Ambala, a Haryana Police officer said their Delhi counterparts were linking the discovery of the car to the blast at the high court in the national capital last month.
"Delhi Police is linking this discovery with the high court blast of last month. We are conducting raids and have launched an extensive search operation in the area," he said.
The explosives have been sent for a forensic test.
Apart from a National Security Guard team from New Delhi, bomb squads also reached Ambala Cantt, around 200 km from the national capital, from Haryana's Karnal and Madhuban towns and from Punjab's Ludhiana town.
