It's not everyday that a chef, who has worked at three starred Michelin-star restaurants like The Fat Duck (UK) and Pierre Gagnaire (France) charges into your kitchen and attends to your culinary needs. If the aforementioned proposition sounds exciting enough, this is your lucky day.

Chef Pooja Dhingra of Le 15 Patisserie has formed an alliance with chef Mukul Tanwar to start a gourmet catering service that prepares and serves meals in the comfort of your home. Not your regular dial-a-home-delivery service, Le 15 Gourmet Catering's USP is European cuisine prepared using ingredients from your refrigerator or hand-picked from a local grocery store.
"While conducting cooking classes, we realised there was a demand in the city for gourmet meals. Since Mukul has enough experience in European cuisine, we decided to join forces to start this service," says Pooja about her new project.
They accept orders for a minimum of eight people and a maximum of 25. You can opt for a three course meal or a 22-course sit-down dinner. Meals can be customised to suit your requirements, including a vegetarian menu to please your palate.
So, how is Chicken Tagine different from Tandoori Murgh? "In Indian cuisine, you add all the ingredients in a pan, add some spices and stir it to create a dish, with a singular predominant flavour. In gourmet European fare, it is about attaining the right balance between cooking, garnishing and presentation without dilluting the individual flavours of the ingredients used," answers Mukul.
The service has been running for the last three weeks, and the duo has already catered for eight private dinners in South Mumbai. Pooja is optimistic about suburban folks in Bandra known for their adventurous tastes.
What's on the menu?
> Chicken Tagine On A Bed Of Couscous
> Opera Cake, which is layered with coffee and chocolate
> White Truffle Risotto
> Grilled Lobster With Apple Cider
> Sea Bass served with sauteed peas
> Pomfret Fillet
> Egg Shell Filled with Black Truffle Mousse
> Assortment of macaroons
If you provide the ingredients, the cost amounts to Rs 1,500 per head. The cost for a sit-down dinner is Rs 2,500 per head for vegetarians and Rs 3,000 per head for non-vegetarians.
