Owner of a renowned gym in east Delhi claims the fitness instructor got the manager arrested by influencing cops, who deny the charge

It would be in the fitness of things to say that it all boils down to money. The owner of a renowned gym in east Delhi has alleged that a trainer at his establishment, who was fired some time ago, has been harassing him and his staff. Not just that, Mahender Aggarwal, the owner of Energie Gym in Krishna Nagar, claims that the trainer Dharmesh Kumar also got the manager of the gym Gulzar Singh arrested by influencing the police. Aggarwal has alleged that the manager was booked in a false case of section 93/97 by the police.

Payday!
Aggarwal says that on October 21, he sacked Dharmesh Kumar for an undisclosed reason. The very next day Dharmesh arrived with a group of people and started demanding two months' salary. When the accountant refused to comply, Dharmesh started threatening him of dire consequences.

"Seeing the situation going out of control, the accountant called me. I immediately made a PCR call at around 8.05pm and at the same time I called the gym manager, who was present at the outlet at Preet Vihar, to handle the situation. The police reached the spot around 8.30 pm and in the meantime the manager also reached the gym at Krishna Nagar. After that the police took Dharmesh and the manager Gulzar Singh to the hospital for obtaining a medico-legal certificate (MLC) and after that they were both arrested by police," Aggarwal alleged.

"When I got to know about this incident I immediately rushed to the police station and met with additional station house officer (SHO) and enquired about the matter and asked him why a medical check-up was required when there was no fighting and Gulzar was not even present at the spot when there was argument. The addl. SHO informed me that it was a routine process and that both the persons arrested would be released in 15-20 minutes. On his assurance I returned to my residence. But when I was on the way I got another call from the manager at Krishna Nagar police station who said the cops had informed him that both people would be released by the court the next day."

CCTV evidence
Mahender also alleged that his manager was arrested in a false case and he has sufficient evidence to prove it. He said he has CCTV footage of the incident and which shows the manager was not even present at the time of the argument. Singh has also complained about the matter to Police Commissioner BK Gupta and the vigilance department of Delhi police.

The other side
DCP (east) Prabhahkar said he was unaware of the incident. However, a senior police officer said, "Both the manager and the trainer were detained from the spot to stop the quarrel. Both have been released on bail. All the allegations made by the gym owner are false."
