KS Sridhara,u00a0transport secretary, in his letter tou00a0the transport commissioner said, the decision was taken as there are chances of anti-social elements misusing such vehicles to create law and order problems. Sridhara urged the transport commissioner to take immediate action and frame and implimentu00a0rules on the use of such vehicles.
Sridhara said except dignitaries from the government, chief minister, cabinet-rank minister, senior officersu00a0such as deputy commissioner, High court judges, Lokayukta and secretaries and opposition leaders of assembly and council, no oneu00a0should use the vehicles fitted with a beacon.
The police should ensure that the beacon lights are covered with a black clothu00a0when the dignitaries are not in it.
