Several flights were delayed in the morning and people had a tough time driving on roads

Residents of Bangalore woke up to an unusually foggy Thurday. Not only did this phenomenon-hit traffic on roads, but also delayed several flights. It wasn't until 9 am that the fog finally dissipated.

With the mercury dipping, people were seen wearing jackets, mufflers and caps. Drivers had to keep their vehicles' headlights on to navigate the roads in poor visibility.

According to sources at Bangalore International Airport (BIAL), 72 flights (46 departures and 26 arrivals) were delayed between 5.15 am and 8.22 am.

Due to the delays, the airport was thickly crowded, and the airline staffers had a tough time handling the masses.

"Because of the poor visibility, operating flights was a problem, and they will have to be planned accordingly," said an airport official.

The visibility at HAL airport was 100 meters, BIAL 50 meters and at Yelahanka, the visibility was zero. The minimum temperatures were 13.2 C, Yelahankau00a0-- 10.1 C, BIAL and HAL airport at 9.4 C.
