The action comes a day after MiD DAY reported the incident. Shipra Mall authorities tender apology to the customer
A day after MiD DAY reported how a piece of meat was served in a vegetarian thali to a customer at a food court in Shipra mall in Indirapuram, the food outlet management terminated services of four employees for the alleged negligence. The mall authority said their food and beverages manager had personally apologised to the complainant Deepak Chandan.

However, Chandan maintained that no apology was received by him from the mall authorities till the incident was reported on Monday. "Today, when the story got published, I got a call from the mall authorities apologising for the same. My main objective was not to get the employees terminated but to upgrade their services. I took the step to ensure that similar incident did not happen in the future. I have full sympathy with those who have been terminated but this incident will serve as a lesson for them in future," said Chandan.
"We have always taken such complaints seriously. A stern action was taken by the food outlet the very same day. All those responsible for the act were terminated and an apology was also tendered to the customer," said Shipra Mall spokesperson.
On April 21, Chandan, a hardcore vegetarian, was served a piece of meat in his vegetarian thali at the Millennium 2000 Punjabi Food Outlet in the mall's food court. He took the same to the counter to report the matter and lodge a protest, as he was a Brahmin.
