For Deve Gowda, victory is bitter

Defeat they say is bitter, but for H D Deve Gowda, even victory is not very sweet.

Though he and his son have won by over one lakh votes each, he is not able to take calls of congratulations from his well wishers because of a throat problem.

One irony of the situation is that his son H D Ramesh as well as his son in law Manjunath are both doctors.

Right now, our source (ironically called deep throat) indicates that Deve Gowda is busy quaffing 'kashaya' a hot and rather bitter brew, in order to soothe his throat, while all around him are celebrating with laddoos.
