Deputy Commissioner of Police, west district, V Ranganathan said that the deceased, identified as Guru Charan Singh Sahni, was found dead inside his office under mysterious circumstances. "There were strangulation marks around his neck that indicate that he was strangled to death. Police have also recovered a wire from the crime spot which was used in the commission of the crime," said the DCP.
The police said that it was around 1:45 pm when they received intimation about the incident. A computer cartridge salesman discovered the incident. Cops reached the spot soon and rushed Sahni to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by doctors. "We have recovered the laptop of the deceased and found Rs 2 lakh near it and also recovered Rs 1.5 lakh from a drawer. So it seems clear that the reason behind the murder was not robbery. The CCTV cameras of the shop were also found broken. We are investigating this case from each and every angle. Further investigation is on," said DCP Ranganathan.
