Former company MD booked for forgery

A former managing director of a city-based construction company has been accused of stealing his company's letterhead and forging signatures to apply for a UK visa.

A case has been filed by a board from ACO systems and solutions at the Ashok Nagar police station, but the accused claims that the company is leveling false allegations against him.

Faking it
The incident came to light on March 14, when the company received a confirmation call from a visa support assistant, on behalf of the UK high commission. The assistant informed that Raman Kapur had applied for a UK visa after submitting documents and letterheads of the company. The call was to verify the antecedents of Kapur.

The assistant added that he had submitted documents stating he is the MD of the company in his application, which was what the consulate wanted to confirm.

The company clarified with the UK consulate that Kapur was employed with them as MD in April 2009 and resigned after six months. The consulate forwarded a set of documents, which Kapur had submitted and upon verification, it was found that the letterheads were taken without permission.

"He has also forged the signature of a senior company official who was out of country at that time and has not signed any papers," Srinivas, director sales and marketing, ACO systems and solutions, said.

S Srinivas informed that the board of directors decided to take legal action, and hence filed a complaint. The Ashok Nagar police have taken up case against Kapur for forgery and cheating.

When MiD DAY contacted Kapur, he admitted that he was employed with company for a brief period, but he refuted the allegation claiming that the company is leveling false allegations against him.
