Four young men from Kerala were arrested for allegedly forcing two girls into their rooms in a city lodge
Four young men from Kerala were arrested for allegedly forcing two girls into their rooms in a city lodge.
Two of the accused had booked rooms in Sumukh Lodge on K H Road with fake names. They said they were on a South India tour and wanted to rest for a night before proceeding. The duo said a few more friends were expected to join them.
Room boy Nagendra saw two others trying to force two girls into the rooms at around 2 am. Nagendra tried to stop them but the four dragged the girls into the room and shut the doors.
Nagendra informed the owner of the lodge and the Ashok Nagar police who rushed to the spot immediately.
There were two boys and one girl in each room. On inquiry, the girls told the police that the boys had forcibly brought them. But it looked like they were "hired" by the youth to spend a night with them, the police said.
The police booked the boys identified as Ashim, Mohammed, Nitas and Anees under Section 342 (wrongful confinement) and remanded them to judicial custody. Police have also seized the Innova car in which they brought the girls.
