Anand: Four persons were briefly detained by Kheda district police for allegedly trying to go near the stationary helicopter of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel for taking 'a selfie' on mobile phone.

Patel on Monday visited Nadiad to inaugurate Taluka Seva Sadan building. She arrived by a helicopter early afternoon, said Kheda superintendent of police Sachin Badshah. After her helicopter landed on a temporary helipad near the exit point for Nadiad on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway, Patel proceeded to the venue by road.

According to police, a white Swift car coming from Ahmedabad suddenly drove towards the helicopter instead of taking the exit road for Nadiad. The police stopped the car.

"As the four persons in the car had breached the security, we took the matter seriously and questioned them. We also checked their IDs. We found out that they got curious after seeing the helicopter and wanted to take 'selfie' with it," he said.

"We released them as no other motive was found behind their act," said Badshah. .
