Opus, which is open to all kinds of music and people of different age groups, has become one of the popular music resto-bars in the city over the last five years. The KaroKing event, which they host, has people from all
over the world drop by to enjoy the night with family and friends. At Opus in the Creek, which was launched over the weekend at Brookefield, the atmosphere is soothing. The low-seating with soft cushions and the low tables invite guests to unwind.
"Opus is the Creek is located on a property that was called Buddha Creek earlier. We just tweaked the name a little," says Carlton Braganza, musician and owner of Opus. The city has seen the mushrooming of resto-bars and performance centres like High Note and Kyra to name a few, so who is Opus targetting? "Brookefield and Whitefield have a different audience. It is great that the city is seeing more such places because it keeps down the expenses incurred when inviting artistes from out of town. There's enough and more space for everybody.
Do you know there are 150 live music venues in Jakarta? We've got a long way to go," he says.
Opus in the Creek will feature Agni on Saturday night.
