Aurangabad: The Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court today issued notices to the state government and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for their "inaction" against a company which has been allegedly polluting wells, farmland and the Sukhna river since long.

According to the petition filed by Vaishnaw Rameshwar and Atmaram Thombe, the distillery has been allegedly dumping chemical wastage in the nearby wells, Sukhna river and adjacent farmland spread over hundreds of acres.
During the hearing on the writ petition, Justice P R Bora and Justice R M Borde issued notices to Maharashtra Government, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, the Principal Secretary of Environment Department, Directors of the company, Police Administration and others to file their response.
The court also ordered the administration to collect water sample from a distance of every two kilometers on the river and file a report of the water quality within a week.
