Once the media reached the gates to cover the developments, hordes of people began to descend on the area hoping to get their moment on television. The crowds created traffic snarls and the police were forced to intervene and disperse the crowd.

Even youngsters were seen cycling up and down with flags flying high. Volunteers from Shiv Sena, NCP and RPI arrived carrying posters with messages stating that India has scored a victory and Qasab’s execution is a tribute to the martyrs of 26/11.
