They say people can do anything for love. But Rajendra Krushna Gurav (24), who doted on his wife, went too far when he began stealing bikes and cars so he could take her and his in-laws for joyrides.

He was arrested by the Chinchwad police, after which he confessed to having committed eight thefts.
A resident of Pradhikaran in Nigdi and originally from Kolhapur, Gurav has been remanded in police custody until April 28 by the Morwadi court.
The police have recovered two bikes from Chinchwad, three from Nigdi and three bikes and a car from other areas, where Gurav had abandoned them.
Assistant Police Inspector Maruti Mohite from the Chinchwad police station said, "Gurav worked as an electricity meter-reader. He was caught stealing a mobile phone from a house at Shivnagari building in Chinchwad on Saturday by some residents and corporator Raghnath Wagh. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing many bikes and cars from Nigdi and Chinchwad."
All for love
On one of his excursions for meter-reading, Gurav got familiar with a girl, whom he later proposed and got married to. "He then used to take his wife and in-laws for a ride using the stolen vehicles and then abandoned those vehicles in society parking or on roads," Mohite said.
