Mathilda SatyaKumar (34), a 2nd Cross resident, said, "We've been using pieces of clothing to strain the water but that doesn't work. The smell from the water says it all. She added, "How can we drink this? How can we let our kids drink it?"
Sampath C (55), another resident said, " We went to the BWSSB office a few days ago and they simply say the problem will continue for another three days. The executive engineer just sat in his air conditioned room and has done nothing to help us so far. We have to pay to have our tanks cleaned, and the insult to injury is that we pay the BWSSB for the dirty water we're being supplied with."

Prabhakar, assistant executive engineer of Indira Nagar, said, "I have not been informed by the head office of such a problem." T Venkatraju, executive engineer, BWSSB, said, "I inspected that area myself just a few days ago but we're not aware of how severe the problem is. The people from the area had a lot of complaints and I was not particularly reminded of any single problem. I have not met any of these people, nor has a written complaint reached me."
