The High Grounds police have seized a sack containing explosives, which was left by an unidentified youth at an under-construction building on Tuesday. However, after preliminary investigations, the police have ruled out the possibility of any criminal activities.
According to the police, an unidentified biker who must have been around 25u00a0 years of age came in and told the workers that he was leaving his sack, containing tools, at the site and would come and collect it later.
When he did not return for a long time, the labourers decided to keep the sack in the storeroom, and informed the contractor Kiran Singh. Singh became suspicious, and asked them to check the bag. To their shock, the labourers found gelatin and dynamite sticks and a bundle of copper wire in the sack.
Kiran Singh informed the site engineer, S Nagraj who alerted the High Grounds police and handed over the bag to them on their arrival.
"We have enquired with the labourers to get more details about the youth. We are following some leads, and though it does not seem to have terror links, storing gelatin sticks is illegal," Inspector B R Jagadish of the High Grounds police said.
