Abdullah Inquilabi was definitely not expecting cops at the Deer Park in Hauz Khas while he was waiting for one of his friends.

The divisional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen had come on a secret mission to Delhi and was on the radar of the Special Cell for quite a while and Sunday proved to the cops' lucky day. The 35-year-old Inquilabi is a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and was caught from near the Dear Park at around 10:30 pm.

"We arrested Abdulla based on technical surveillance and inputs from intelligence agencies. The accused was about to meet someone on the road when we intercepted him," said a police officer.

A team of Special Cell led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhisham Singh was tracking the accused since he was in Delhi. "The accused is a divisional commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in the Rajouri sector of Kashmir. Abdulla was living in Kashmir from last 10 years," the officer added. The sleuths also recovered a 9 mm pistol and live cartridges from the accused.


Second time lucky

This is the second big catch for the Delhi Police Special Cell. One and a half year ago the Special cell arrested the Nepal head ofu00a0 Lashkar e toiba named Mohammad Umar Madani. Madani was born and brought up in different cities of India and was the key recruiting member of Lashkar. Madani's task was to lure the young unemployed people and recruit them as a terrorists in Lashkar e Toiba.
