A 27-year-old woman attempted suicide at Pimpri last night following a marital spat.
Sushma Hivale, a resident of Pimpri's Moshi area was rushed to Yashwant Rao Chavan Memorial Hospital around 11.30 pm by her husband Vishal Hivale after she started vomiting.
Sushma had consumed phenyl and her stomach had to be flushed, informed the doctors who were treating her.
"Her husband called me to say that she had swallowed some substance. When I reached the hospital, the doctors had treated her and she told me that she took poison because she was upset with her husband," said Sushma's mother.
"They had a spat over money and when she was alone, he consumed poison."
