A huge techie contingent is readying itself for this year's Voice of Bangalore contest
TECHIES in the city are gearing up to make it a hat trick as the search begins for Voice Of Bangalore 2009.
Two techies from Wipro and Mico Bosch won the title in the last two years. This year, in suit, over a thousand software professionals will take part in the general auditions starting on Monday.
The techies will also compete in a special audition round organised exclusively for them.
"We have got a huge response from software professionals," said MR Nandeesh, Manager, Garuda Mall, which has organised the contest. "Hence we have organised an exclusive audition round on August 26 and 27 at the ITPL."

The first round of auditions for students have already been conducted in city colleges, including Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, NMKRV College, Sheshadripuram college and National college. With over seven audition rounds to go, including an exclusive round in ITPL, organisers are expecting the number of working professionals to go up this season.
"Software professionals from over sixty companies are expected this season," added Nandeesh.
Proven record
Wipro's Shakthi Mahapatra won the title in the first season, while Mico Bosch's Aishwarya Kashinathan bagged the Season 2 title. Both of them have recorded songs for a yet to be released Kannada movie 'Manasu'. Many techies with similar dreams have thus lined up for the run to winning this season's title.
Pressure at office, say former winners, is responsible for the increase in number of software professionals participating in talent hunt like VOB.
"We always work under pressure and want an outlet to ease ourselves. That's why more professionals are participating in such talent hunts," said Kashinathan, winner of VOB Season 2.u00a0 The winners of VOB Season 3 will be among 16 singers to be handpicked by a panel of renowned singers and directors that include names like Yograj Bhat, B S Chaya and B K Sumitra. On October 10, they will also walk away with a Maruthi A-Star and Diamonds worth Rs 50,000, among other prizes.
"We are expecting either Genelia D Souza, Hrithik Roshan or Aamir Khan besides Kunal Ganjanwala to pick the Voice of Bangalore," added Nandeesh.
