Fate has favoured city student Rohan Prinja a second time. Prinja, who topped the city in the IIT-JEE results announced barely a week ago, has once again left others in the city behind, this time in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). The AIEEE results were declared yesterday afternoon, and P Jog Junior College student Prinja, who was coached by Bakliwal Tutorials for engineering entrances, said he found the news of his stupendous success hard to believe."I didn't even expect to top the IIT-JEE and now I have learnt about this," said Prinja. "It's unexpected, but it feels nice."

entrance test. Prinja stood fifth in the state and 51st in the country.

Asked about his future plans, he firmly said that he wanted to get into one of the IITs. "I am happy that I did well in the AIEEE, but I am quite firm on getting into IIT," said Prinja. "I want to go to IIT-Bombay and do electronics engineering as it's the best institute to get into." While Prinja stood fifth in the state and 51st in India, the student who was second in the city toppers' list, Ashish Bora from IIT Pratishan Kendra, stood sixth in the state.

Bora too has set his sights on the IIT, saying the AIEEE results hold little meaning for him now. "I just wrote the AIEEE as a standby test, in case I didn't do too well in the IIT entrance exams, and also because I had filled the form. But I have made up my mind, I want to get into IIT-Bombay, preferably in the mechanical engineering department," said Bora, a student of Shivajinagar's Modern College.

Partha Bhattacharya, the student who stood third in the city, also said IIT-Bombay was his preferred destination. He scored 135 AIR in the AIEEE. "I got 196 rank in IIT-JEE. Hence, I will be going to IIT Bombay for electrical engineering," he said. Others from the city did not seem to do well at the national level, as only two could make it to the top 100 across India.
