The urn containing the ashes of late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray was brought to the city and placed at Shiv Sena Bhavan in Deccan Gymkhana yesterday evening for party leaders, workers and residents in the city to pay last tribute.
The urn will be displayed at various locations in the city and then later today, its contents will be scattered in the Indrayani river.u00a0Party leaders and workers gathered in vast numbers at Shiv Sena Bhavan and were unable to control their emotions while looking at the urn.

Nana Wadekar, former city president of the party, said, “We have really lost the head of the family who had never forgotten the ordinary party workers like others and myself.” u00a0Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said, “We are keeping uniformity about which picture of Saheb should be used all over.”
Nirmala Kende, Pune district president, Women Cell, Shiv Sena, said, “Saheb had deep concern for me and many women working for the party. He used to advise us to look after the family first and then the party work. Only a father can give such practical advice and therefore Saheb was really a great father figure for all of us and we are now missing him.”
