Advocate SL Rajappa who murdered his colleague Naveena JS (24), in the corridors of Karnataka High Court on July 8, for turning his proposal down also tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat and consuming poison is coming back to normal.

Rajappa who was on ventilators for more than a month at Victoria Hospital is on the road to recovery, and he is off the ventilators. "He is completely stable.

He is having normal food on his own and is also able to speak. As his health condition is improving he is likely to be discharged form the hospital very shortly," said BG Tilak, medical superintendent, Victoria Hospital.

With this new development, the police are likely to start their investigations. The police had not questioned Rajappa, since he was not in a position to speak and was in a critical condition.

PI Ashok of Vidhana Soudha said, "I am going to meet the doctors today for the update on Rajappa. I met him a couple of days ago and he is doing fine." Sources at the police department said, "Once he is discharged, the department will start its investigations.

Rajappa's brother Madhu said, "My father visits him regularly and he told me that there is a swelling in his knee, which is painful. We are also keen to know of the outcome of the case."

Hospital sources said that orthopaedic doctors are treating his leg and ENT doctors are taking care of his throat, which is still not completely cured.
