MBBS student was fleeing to Russia after his luxury sedan ran over four

Shahid Khan, the prime accused in the late Sunday night car crash in which four people were killed, was


arrested by the police from the airport on Tuesday.




"He had boarded KC 908 Air Astana flight but was made to disembark from the plane by the police. He was fleeing to Russia where he is pursuing MBBS from Kursk Medical University in Russia," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal.

The accused is a native of Alwar city of Rajasthan while his father deals in real estate.u00a0 Khan moved to India from Russia a week ago and he had planned to go back in August.

He was on the run after crushing eight labourers near the Safdarjung flyover. Shahid was driving the car allegedly in an inebriated condition when he lost control over the vehicle. The car first rammed into a barricade then ran over the labourers killing two of them on the spot and collided with a stationed tractor before coming to a halt. Two of those injured died at separate hospitals on Monday.

Shahid's friends, who were with him at the time of the accident, were set free by the police after questioning. Shahzad and Alam had been detained from the spot while Shahid made good his escape. Alam threw a party at his place that was attended by the trio. In the party they consumed liquor.

Shahid had been hiding in Mewat and purchased tickets for Russia from there only.
