Dr Anil Patil is a man on a mission these days. After a Kingfisher flight from Mumbaiu00a0 bound for Sholapur flew without him, Patil plans to sue the airline for Rs 10 lakh. Speaking to MiD DAY, Patil said he was travelling to his clinic in Sholapur on Saturday when the incident occurred.
Wait continues
"The flight was supposed to arrive at 11.30 am. I checked in at the privilege counter at 10.15 am. As I was told the flight was delayed by an hour, I waited in the lounge for privileged customers. Between 10.30 am and
11.30 am, I made several enquiries about the flight status. On each occasion, I was told that it hadn't landed," said Patil, who says he was asked to report for boarding at 12.25 pm.
"When I reached the departure gate, I saw my checked-in luggage lying on the floor. When I questioned the airline staff, I was told the flight had left without me," fumed Patil.
Refund offered
Patil said, "When I asked to speak to a superior, they offered to refund the money. But I refused and complained in the register. The company sent me an e-mail that promised to look into the matter.
For them, it is a small matter, but I had over a 100 patients waiting, some of them critical. I am going to file a case in the consumer court against Kingfisher Airlines this week."
Least bothered
"I am a privileged customer, so they issued me a lounge pass. They didn't bother to look for me there.u00a0 I had to travel by road for 10 hours to Sholapur, and missed all my appointments for the day," complained the doctor.
