Last year, they were asked to vacate their abode and now the makeshift one is in tatters and nobody seems to be listening. The student leaders at the Delhi University have no dearth of furniture to break in protest when needed but when it comes to their office at Chhatra Marg the chairs are already broken.

It has been more than a month since Delhi University had its student union elections, but the make-shift Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) office stinks, as the toilet in the premises is not cleaned regularly and the washroom has no water supply. The provisional pota-cabin DUSU office painted in yellow is apparently rickety, the doors creak and the sofas of the president room are torn.
"It has been more than a month now that we had submitted the furniture bill to the administration, but there has been no response from them. My chair is broken and one can sink in the sofas kept outside," said Jitender Choudhary, DUSU President.
"We are not provided any computers to work on. We generally have to go to a cyber caf ufffd or work from home. It is absurd that to send a press release I have to travel a mile to find a caf ufffd," said Ashutosh, a student's union member.
The floor of the president's room has been broken. Student leaders claim that the bill for proper infrastructure had been given immediately after the elections, but the administration is still sitting on it.
"We were assured by the university administration that we would be provided our office soon after the elections. It has been so long now they are postponing the issue. We have to somehow manage with this temporary structure," alleged Choudhary.
