While the country prayed and observed all kinds of superstitions for the Men in Blue, a Congress legislator from Madhya Pradesh stood for 12 straight hours to 'ensure' India's victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in the World Cup semifinal.

Panchilal Meda, a legislator from Dharampuri, did not even sit down while the state assembly session was on.

"I was thinking what sacrifice can I make to ensure India's win in the important game. So I decided to remain standing from 10 in the morning to 10 in the night," Meda said.
