Party’s state chief hopes that out of the 185 rallies the party’s prime ministerial candidate will be addressing across the country, 10 per cent would be in the state
The BJP is stepping up its efforts ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, and not wanting to be left behind, the Maharashtra unit of the party wants their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to address 16-18 rallies in the state, including Nanded.

“Of the 24 constituencies where BJP has its candidates in the state, we hope Modi will address at least 18 rallies,” said state unit chief Devendra Fadnavis. “But, the programme is yet to be finalised and the
number of rallies may change,” he added.
Initially, it was decided that Modi would address two rallies on March 30, one each at Akola and Nanded. But, the date is being revised, said sources, adding that efforts were on to club two adjoining constituencies.
Sources said that out of the 185 rallies that Modi would be addressing across the country, at least 10 per cent should be in the state. Modi’s rally at Nanded will be significant in view of the Congress’ decision to nominate Ashok Chavan, who is mired in a controversy over the Adarsh housing society in Colaba.
